Larimar Pendant — Beaded Silversmith Series

$135.00

The goal was simple and not easy: make a beaded bezel that reads like metalwork.

Each pendant in this collection starts with the stone. I choose cabochons with strong movement — banding, veining, color shifts — and build the bezel around what's already there, pulling colors from inside the stone itself using at least three shades of Delica beads. Sometimes the color blending is obvious. Sometimes it disappears into the stone and you just feel it.

The finish is purl pearl, set in two passes: one row couched, one row as the outer edge. The effect is the point — that clean, substantial border you expect from a silversmith setting, achieved entirely in beadwork.

This is a collection about what beading can do when it's not trying to look like beading.

Details

  • Natural Larimar cabochon, one of a kind
